I think this is an important question...
by The Rebel inwhen i first met my wife and on that so important first date i was 21 years old and sadly broke, she was an 18 year old au pair.
any way i treated her to mcdonald's but she had to pay for the meal.
now over 20 years later and still together, i realize how lucky i was she didn't say on that first date " if you can't afford to pay "our" mcdonald's meal f...off" .

Whoever asks for the date pays or
Whoever chooses the restaurant (or movie, or activity) pays or
Become gay so it's always the man (or woman) who pays.

Happiness and Freedom On A Paradise Earth?
by Disassociated Lady 2 inat a recent meeting there was a watchtower article about life in paradise.
they were saying that even when witnesses finally get there they will still be under the strict instructions from the elders and gb.
they may be given jobs that they will find unpleasant, also the preaching work will be ongoing because of all the resurrected people who need to learn about why they are given another chance.

The paradise earth doesn`t begin after armageddon , it doesn`t start till after the thousand years of Jesus Christ`s reign when Satan & his demons are let loose for a time and then finally destroyed.
Sounds like Jehovah is playing a cat and mouse game with Satan-- playing with his prey before gobbling it up. Why let Satan run loose before destroying him? What's the point?

Why are the atheists on this site so hateful?
by HopeEverLasting inall us creationists try to do is offer true evidence that the one and only god is out there watching and looking down on us.
we present that certain scientists know the truth about god and that he is everything that we see from trees, life, weather, the air we breath, and even the most simple molecules.
but of course you atheists reject it because it is your nature to not be humble and see god because you want to rule your own life.

But of course you atheists reject it because it is your nature to not be humble and see God because you want to rule your own life.
[Emphasis mine]
You say that like it's a bad thing.

Watching the Rio Olympics? What's your sporting interest?
by smiddy ini haven`t seen much if anything on the rio olympic games on this forum , i can`t believe their is so little interest in such a sporting event that is televised world wide.. i don`t get to watch everything , but events i do like to see when i can are, track and field ,gymnastics ,swimming , diving ,and their are a few other sports i will watch when they are on , especially if an australian is involved.. how about you ?
whats your favourite sport to watch ?.
has the "drug" issue affected your view of the games ?

The major news programmes at 6, 9 and 10 pm on BBC One never get moved as a rule. Also the BBC2 Newsnight programme at 10:30. So the Olympic coverage gets switched during the news. In the UK you can also press the "Red Button" and select a menu of Olympic events that are being streamed simultaneously.
If it's to avoid preempting news that makes sense. But I was trying to follow men's gymnastics and it seemed like every 15 minutes they were shifting it around not for news, but to cover another sport. I'll pay more attention next time.
A "red button" too? I was already jealous of you guys, you didn't have to rub it in.

The BBC does an excellent job of covering sport.
No advert breaks ever! The commentary is also straightforward and focuses on the athletes instead of the "wittiness" of the commentators. And they give fair coverage to athletes from other countries, not just their own. Despite what the rest of the world thinks, there are Americans who realize not everything revolves around us. I cheer for Team U.S.A but mostly I'm on Team Whoever-Does-the-Best.
I don't understand why they'll move a sport from BBC One to Four, then Two, then back to One, etc. But for no ads, it's worth it

My preference is gymnastics but I enjoy most all of them except for the team sports. I love the Olympics! My favorite part is the Parade of Nations during the opening ceremony. So many people from such different backgrounds living and competing peacefully together for a few weeks. What's not to like?
I hate the coverage in the US though. BBC does a much better job.
